Masculine bike birthday

I found this adorable bike in my stash of cut outs, and wanted that for my main focus for my masculine card.  It fits perfectly for the inspiration photo this week from The Challenge blog.

My layout comes from Case this Sketch. Totally stumped me. But started working in the round circles for the bike wheels, and some faux tire marks and I think it came together really nice.

Hope you will join these fabulous challenge blogs this week!

Just another shot, been playing around with lighting and my DIY light tent :)

birthday FMS

Today's card follows the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I rotated my sketch to make a vertical card (my favourite).

I used Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey, White and Black from Stampin' up!

I embossed the small pink strip of paper and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Gives it a nice glossy shine to the card.

I made myself a small light tent, because taking pictures of cards is one of my pet peeves....and I am not going to give up.  This is an improvement, but still have some tweaks to work out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another pic in a different light.

8th Birthday!!

My nieces' 8th birthday is coming up in November, and I needed a cute card for her. I know she likes owls, so I went with the owl punch.

My card combines three challenges. I couldn't find a color challenge though, and I really like those. So I went with girly colors of blues and pink. I really hope she likes it!

My first challenge is for As You See It Challenge. They are celebrating their 100th challenge, therefore the challenge was interpret the word Celebrate onto our cards somehow.

Second challenge is for Seize the Birthday, which is to include anything that flies!! Owl worked out perfect!!

Third challenge is for Friday Mashup which is to create a birthday card!

I took this pic at night, hopefully tomorrow morning i will have time to retake the picture again.

All Stampin' Up! material and supplies.

THanks for stopping by.

Edited to add better picture of my card :)

95th birthday!

My husband's grandmother will be celebrating her 95th birthday at the end of the month, so I wanted to make her an elegant card with flowers to make it feel like spring is coming.  Hopefully spring will arrive shortly, although when looking outside I really don't see that happening any time soon.  Over a foot of snow has fallen overnight and it's still coming down here in Quebec, Canada.

This card I have decided to link up to 3 challenges.  The colors are from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  The floral choice is for The Paper Players, and lastly the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.  I hope you play along with these challenge blogs. They are some of my favourite craft blogs :)

I love the way it turned out so I went ahead and made another one. Just a tad bit different so they are unique :)

Teen card

Teen card.  We all know making a card for a teen can be a little challenging.  Especially a boy teen!!

This card came together quite nicely, to my surprise!

This card is for a particular teen that is a smarty pants :)

I am entering it into this weeks challenge at SUO challenges.

yellow cheery birthday!

Today's card is for the sketch challenge blog Freshly Made Sketches.

I used Daffodil delight and Indigo Island, with some Soft grey and White as neutrals.

I find it so difficult to take pics of a white card. Something I am going to have to master this year.  I even decorated the inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

birthday party, LOTS of DSP

My two daughters celebrated their birthdays this week. Their birthdays are two days apart, so we decided, like usual, to have one big party.

I used tons of DSP for my creations this year. I wanted to post some pictures of all the decorations.  From the banner to the prizes for games, to the subway art (which matched all the colors I used), all was done using Stampin' Up! materials and supplies.

You can also see the little goodie bags. My 9 year old daughter made each of her friends a friendship bracelet. I decorated a little book for them, and they put their little prizes in them and their cake pops to take home.

I also decorated little battery powered tea lights you can see on the table.

They had so much fun. I know this because my oldest told me it was the best birthday to date!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Decorations....the circles hanging down and sewn together, so simple and so easy to make.

 Banner!

Decorate their own cupcake!

I also made cake balls, have to mention those, as they are so delicious!!!

Prizes, m&m's :)

Subway art, little tea lights, boxes with candy as prizes, and the goodie bags.

Boxes with candy for prizes.

My oldest daughters subway art frame.

All together.

FMS birthday - color blocking

I am finally back to stamping, and it feels great! I have been doing some creative things for my two daughters' birthday party coming up, can't wait to take pics and share.

This week I decided to join the sketch challenge blog, Freshly Made Sketches.

I had this card designed before I even started. I wanted to go with color blocking, haven't done this technique in ages.  I used the colors, Basic Grey, Pool Party and Island Indigo. The little accents are just so cute. love the mini clothespins.

Freshly Fab Birthday

This week's sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches sure had me thinking. I have no new stamp sets, so I tend to go to the same ones a lot.  This is my third attempt at a card for this sketch that I like.  My other two attempts are not show worthy. I seem to have lost my creativity for cards.  With my nice new stamp room, I am lacking motivation and inspiration. Not sure how to fix that.

The colors over at Fab Friday Challenge are beautiful. This was a challenge for me too, but I was able to put them together.   I am really liking my card now the more I look at it. Except, I should have put my little banner in the bottom corner on a separate cardstock first and cut it out, it has taken on the embossing from the crumb cake cardstock!

I did some paper piercing, some embossing and a little bit of stamping.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Players

The Paper Players challenge this week was to use the sketch they provided. In honor of National Earth Month, they thought it would be fun to challenge us to use a recycled or re-purposed item on our projects.  I am using an old envelope that I have decorated with Pool Party, More Mustard, and Soft Suede paper and DSP.

Thanks for stopping in.

Fab Duo!

Fab Friday has a wonderful sketch this week.   I borrowed this stamp set of Awash FLowers, and I am really liking it. I will have to make a few more cards before I give it back :)

Dynamic Duo challenge this week is Primrose Petals and a color of our choice.  I went with crumb Cake. I love these colors, they are soft and subtle.

All Stampin' Up! material and supplies used.

FMS - birthday!

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches really had me thinking.  I took a lot of elements from a card that Teneale Williams made a long time ago.
The colors are Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede.
The DSP is Everyday Enchantment.
I also got some new supplies this weekend, and just had to play with them.
The little rosettes are absolutely gorgeous!  I unraveled one to put on my card on top of the scallop piece as well as a rosette.
Thanks for stopping by.

ETA: looks like I missed the challenge :( With the holiday, I thought we were sunday today :(

Birthday - Summer silhouette

My card today uses the Summer Silhouettes from Stampin' Up!  I love this set.

The sketch is from Case This Sketch challenge blog.    Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Soft Suede are my colors, which comes from the Stampin' Royalty's blog this week. I missed the deadline by a few hours though, darn!!! Great color combination.

I started my card off as an Easter Card, but it ended up leaving towards a birthday more. I will have to make my Easter card soon though, as it's approaching so fast.

Thanks for stopping by.
