Friend to friend

Sometimes it's nice to get a card in the mail just because from a friend.  This card would be perfect for that.

I am linking up to three challenges this week.  The sketch is from CAS(E) this sketch.  The embossing is from Stampin' Royalty and the colors are from this weeks ColorQ challenge site.  I coloured the two blues on the flowers, newsprint for the butterfly and my little accents were little flags.

All stampin up materials.

FMS - thinking of you

Freshly Made sketches has, once again, a beautiful sketch this week.

This layout really stumped me. My first card attempt looks nothing like this, and then I remembered my new honeycomb impressions that I haven't used much. This technique with cutting out DSP from other papers is really fun! Definitely going to try that again. Need to find another sketch challenge this week :)

All Stampin' Up! material and supplies.

Birthday.....

I have been trying to make some birthday cards for the upcoming year, and the Mojo Monday Sketch helped me out greatly!   I went looking for a color combo challenge, and came across Create with Connie and Marie, and the colors are some of my favorites.  Next I wanted to enter it for the Friday Mashup, which was to create a birthday card, and to take it even further was to use Pastel colors, BINGO!

Hope you like today's card. Hopefully I will be back again tomorrow with another birthday card!

Sketchbook Saturday

I found a new challenge to play along with today.  The Sketchbook Saturday Challenge.  I LOVE this sketch!! definitely one I will use over and over again. I can already see a ton of cards being made for Christmas with this sketch!

The flower technique I found on the net somewhere, and I can't remember where!! You take a scallop circle punch and then draw a swirl in the middle and work the paper around.....I am sorry I can't remember. I should mark these things down. I will try and find it again hopefully and post a link to the tutorial. So beautiful!

I used Cherry Cobler, Old Olive, and the new DSP christmas paper, can't remember the name from Stampin' Up!  All Stampin' Up! supplies.

Card box & Coordinating Cards

I love making these little gift boxes for my friends and family. This one however was for a neighbor who wanted some cards made for her friends! So she gave me the colors, one box of blue tones, and one box of yellow/green tones. So I immediately went to Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue, and Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.  All favorite colors of mine. I really hope she likes them! The box is a quick one I made up to fit the cards and envelopes into.  I first made the Blue card for a challenge I found on the net, so I just made up 5 more for my neighbor!

Happy Easter- new technique

Hi everyone,

First, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!

It certainly has been a while since I made a post. Usual excuse: Life :)  It's true. It's been crazy, but I love it anyway.

I was trying to put together an Easter Card, and didn't have an egg stamp, so I turn to my Stampin' Up! punches, and what do I find?  The Owl Punch!

Here is my card using the Owl punch for the Eggs, and the steps below with pictures on how to achieve the look.  This is my original idea, so if it's out there somewhere and has already been discovered, well, then, great minds think alike.

Here are the steps.  I used Bliss Stamp Set for the eggs. The colors I used are: Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Basic Grey. THe picture doesn't really do the card any justice, it's much prettier in person :)

Stamp the image in the bottom corner of a scrap piece of paper, so you don't waste too much from punching with the owl.

Line up the image inside the owl symmetrically on both sides.

Next, cut off his feet, and the ears rounding them to form an egg!

Sponge the edges to hide an imperfections.

And, that's it! Easy peasy!!!   Here are some more eggs I made!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope this helped, and inspired some of you to try using your punches in different ways!!!!  leave a comment and tell me what you think!!

Have a great weekend!!!!

Friend card......and a VIDEO!

How Exciting to have Mary Fish, from Stampin' Pretty, do a One Minute to WOW video on MY TECHNIQUE!!!!  Thank you Mary!!!! You can check out her blog and the video HERE.  Mary is so talented!! I check out her blog daily, you should too :)

Onto my card for today.............

Here is another variation of the Designer Label Punch being used a different way.  I posted just below the steps to achieve a different label to go with the word window, and this is another way of doing it too. I punched the word window label down by double punching it as well to make it smaller and fit perfectly.

First the card:

Punch the cardstock once, turn it to the smaller end.....

End Result!!!

Hope you like my idea!!

Color Dare Challenge #93

I had in my mind today to make a clean and simple card.  I have been away from my crafts for a while dealing with an allergic reaction to something I am not sure of, so I wanted to sit down while my little one was sleeping, and dream up a card :) So, I headed out to find a challenge, and I did.  My clean and simple card idea didn't last long. Before I knew it, I had supplies everywhere, and I had to remake this card over.  In my head, I kept telling myself, keep it simple T. Nope, didn't happen. Oh well, I guess it worked out.

I tried my hand at a color dare challenge again....and I gotta say it, I love challenges. It's so nice to see these colors together, they are not something I would put together on my own, but I am loving them now. I hope to make some more with these colors!!!

So, here is my card! what do you think? clean and simple? or just a step up from that?!?!?!!?

Greeting Card Box - Elements of Style

I created this box to hold 4-6 coordinating cards with their envelopes. The link can be found here, since its the same template I used. I absolutely love making these little boxes with matching cards. It makes a great gift for teachers, secretaries, friends, grandmothers that seem to have everything.  All it needs is a great little bag, and you are done!

Hope you like it. I am really starting to love the Elements of Style Stamp set. I am so happy to have purchased it.

I used Old Olive, So saffron and chocolate chip cardstock and Old Olive ink.  I used my big shot to emboss the background.
